Warsaw is the most popular city in Poland, and every year millions of tourists come to visit it. Summer is the best time to take advantage of all attractions that the city has to offer, as there are lots of it, for example walk in the Lazienki Park in Warsaw, or fall in love with the Old Town, and then to end the day holding an ice-cold beer in your hand.

Here’s a question for you: are you looking for a place in Warsaw with best beer and great atmosphere? If the answer is yes, then you should definitely read this article.

I just want to mention that I am not a beer expert, but I do know what a great beer is supposed to taste like (or at least I think so). The nightlife in Warsaw is amazing, and you can find lots of places to go out with your friends, try typical Polish food, have a beer, drink something stronger, try delicious vodka shots and meet new people. The greatest thing about Warsaw is the variety of beers that you can find in pubs, there are places selling more than 1000 types of beer! How cool is that? Warsaw is definitely a perfect place to go for a pub crawl.

I have yet to visit all of the Warsaw bars and pubs (I’d love to do that but I guess my liver would not be happy), but I can recommend you the places I’ve already been to and which I try to visit every weekend.

List of the Best Warsaw Bars and Pubs

All of the below bars and pubs are great, and I do not want to make an “official ranking” of pubs and bars in Warsaw. I will just briefly describe each of these great bars and you will be able to decide which one is the best for you to go and have a beer there.

1. Spiskowcy Rozkoszy

This place is among my favorite ones. A pub perfect for all beer lovers who want to spend a nice evening, chat with friends and meet new people.

Spiskowcy Rozkoszy | Location

The pub is located near Metro Centrum, on Zurawia street, so the location is just perfect.

Prices & Beer Types

In this pub you can find hundreds of different types of beer: flavoured beer, regular beer, strong beer, sweet beer, etc. The prices depend on what beer you are looking for, but typically you will pay between 10-12 PLN for 0.5 liter.

Opening Hours

The pub is not that big but if  you are lucky you can find a place to sit and enjoy a glorious glass of beer in the basement of the pub or in the first floor. During summer months you can choose to sit at the tables outside.

You also can make reservations via their website without any problem, and the staff speak English! so don’t worry if you don’t speak Polish. The pub is open everyday. Fridays and Saturdays till 2 am.

2. Pijalnia wódki i piwa

I have never seen this place empty during the nights, this place is really typical from Poland. Most of the decoration of this bar is with newspaper during the socialism time. The location is at the end of  Nowy Swiat street (the main street of Warsaw) that is near the center of the city. The prices are ideal for students, erasmus and workers. A glass of beer, wine or a shot of vodka will cost you only 4 PLN, more or less 1 euro, and if you are there on Wednesday and you present your student ID all the drinks will cost you only 2 PLN, really cheap right?  But is not only drinks, you can also order a typical Polish dish while drinking for only 8 PLN, for example raw fish with olive oil or a bake potato with garlic cheese, you have no idea how delicious those dishes taste. As a foreigner I can say that if you didn’t visit this place you never came to Poland.

One of the favourite bars of Erasmus students living in Poland: the famous Pijalnia wodki i piwa! I have never seen this place empty at night: it is without a doubt a place that reflects Polish style very well. The interior of the bar is made in a “socialist” style (PRL era), with old newspapers on the walls and old music.

Pijalnia Wodki i Piwa in Warsaw | Location

The bar is a franchise: one of the venues is located at the beginning of Nowy Swiat street, next to the famous Warsaw palm tree. The other one is located in the “party” zone called Pawilony, which is located just across the same street. The prices are perfect for students

Prices of Food and Drinks

It is considered to be one of the cheapest bars in Warsaw. A glass of wine, a beer or a shot of vodka will cost you only 4 PLN (around 1 euro). If you are a student and you visit the bar on Wednesday, the drinks will cost you as little as 2 PLN, which is crazy cheap!

But this place is not only about drinking: you can order a typical Polish meal for just 8 PLN. The meals you can choose from are e.g. śledź (raw herring with olive oil and onion), gzik (a boiled potato with cottage cheese) or famous tatar (but if you are a foreigner you might find this one quite weird…).

As a foreigner living in Warsaw, I can tell you: if you don’t visit this bar, then you have never been to Poland!

3. Cuda na Kiju – Multitap bar

The walls of the pub are entirely made of glass and transparent, which is great in my opinion, while drinking your beer you can see one of the main streets or just stare at the people passing outside the pub.

Cuda na kiju | Location

The pub is located on the corner of Aleje Jerozolimskie and Nowy Swiat, right next to the National Museum. It is a little bit “off” the standard drinking venues, but if you know about its existence, you will find it without a problem. During summer you will see lots of people sitting on the chairs outside the bar and enjoying the nice weather of the capital of Poland.

Beers Types and Opening Hours

This pub is famous for specials brands of beers. The prices also depend on the beer you are looking for, the staff also speaks English, and if you are not sure what to drink you can ask them for a recommendation of a beer that would be ideal for you. The bar is open everyday, Fridays and Saturdays till 3 am.

4. Kufle i Kapsle

Currently this is the most popular pub in Warsaw, and keep this in mind that on Friday or Saturday evening it might be quite hard to find a place to sit. The bar has an amazing atmosphere and is very trendy among many people.

Kufle i Kapsle | location

The bar is also located near Metro Centrum, at Nowogrodzka street, a very centric location. This place was selected to be part of the “Pub Route” last year.

Beer Types & Prices

The prices also depend on the beer you are looking for, but a beer may cost you 2 or 3 PLN more compared to other bars on this list. This pub also specialize in specials brands of regional and international beers.

Venue & Opening Hours

During summer there are tables out of the pub so you can enjoy the great weather while drinking a beer.

The place is big enough, but specially during weekends it will be really crowded, so be aware of this. Nice atmosphere, great people, awesome beer. The bar is open everyday, Fridays and Saturdays till 4 am.

5. Chmielarnia

This pub was also selected as a part of “Beer Route” last year. It is also a restaurant, and the food you can order (Thai-Nepalese cuisine) is really delicious.

Beer Types & Prices

This pub has many beers to choose from, but be careful what you are asking for: last time I ordered a beer called “Liquid Confidence”, which costed around 25 PLN, but it was one of the strongest beers I have ever had.

The prices of the food and beers are a bit high, but believe me, it is worth trying this Thai-Nepalese food with Polish regional beers.

Chmielarnia in Warsaw | Location

Chmielarnia has 2 venues in Warsaw, the first one is located 10 minutes walking distance from the Warsaw Central Station, at Twarda 42, in a basement of the building. The second one is located at Marszalkowska 10/16.

Opening Hours

The pub is open every day, Friday and Saturday till 2 am.

Conclusions

After reading the article, I am sure you are willing to visit Warsaw more than ever. You already have some ideas of how to spend your nights in the city, enjoying a good beer with great people. If you know any other pub or bar in Warsaw, let us know in the comments, I will be happy to visit a new place in Warsaw, and if the place is great, I will add it to my list.
